The company was founded in 1938 by Carl Edom as E&S Instruments repairing speedometers, tachometers and taximeters. That partnership lasted for 8 years . In 1946 a new partnership was formed by Carl, Joe DeForke Jr. and Pete Brady. The company changed the name to Instrument Exchange Ltd .and added more new lines of instruments for sale and service. The partnership was expanded once more in 1970 to include sons Joe DeForke III and Steve Brady. Steve and little Joe being Carl’s grandsons.

The business began having growing pains and in 1997 the company formed a Corporation and the name morphed to Instrument Exchange Inc. We have been located on Harrisburg Blvd. since 1940 and at our current address of 4501 Harrisburg since 1962.

The company has been serving its customers both domestic and worldwide in the Marine, Oilfield, and Industrial market from 1938 to the present with instrumentation for various applications for generators, pumping units, diesel engines and hydraulics.

We are master distributors for Stewart-Warner, V D OClark Brothers, Isspro, G B I Nason, and Auto Meter gauges.
